TASCAM Sonicview 16XP
Brian Long
Introduction
The TASCAM Sonicview 16XP is a professional digital mixing console designed for live sound, broadcast, theater, installed AV, houses of worship, production facilities, and other applications that demand extensive routing and processing in a compact control surface. Its 16-channel control surface combines motorized faders with multiple color touchscreens and dedicated rotary controls, allowing engineers to view and adjust channel parameters without relying on a single central display.
At the heart of the Sonicview 16XP is a 96kHz mixing engine using 54-bit floating-point processing. The console supports 40 mono input channels, two stereo input channels, 22 configurable AUX/GROUP buses, a stereo main bus, four internal effects processors, Dante networking, 32-channel USB audio, and multitrack SD recording. Flexible expansion and remote-control capabilities make the Sonicview 16XP equally useful as a stand-alone live console or as the center of a larger networked professional audio system.
