TASCAM MM-4D/IN-E
Brian Long
Introduction
The TASCAM MM-4D/IN-E is a compact four-channel mic/line input converter that brings professional analog sources into a Dante network. Four balanced Euroblock inputs feature TASCAM microphone preamps, remotely adjustable gain, and +48V phantom power, making the unit suitable for microphones, mixers, wireless systems, and other analog sources in permanent AV installations.
More than a basic analog-to-Dante interface, the MM-4D/IN-E incorporates a DSP matrix mixer with input EQ and dynamics, ducking, ambient noise compensation, flexible routing, and scene storage. Four Dante input and four Dante output channels allow the processor to participate in a larger networked audio system, while PoE, AES67 support, Dante Domain Manager compatibility, and software-based remote control make it particularly useful for conference facilities, education, houses of worship, hospitality, corporate AV, theaters, and other installed audio environments.
