TASCAM DR-07XP
By Brian Long
Introduction
The TASCAM DR-07XP is a compact two-channel handheld recorder designed for music, field recording, interviews, rehearsals, live performances, video production, sound effects, and content creation. Its adjustable unidirectional stereo condenser microphones can be configured for either A-B or X-Y recording, allowing users to select a wider stereo image or a more focused stereo pickup depending on the source and environment.
With 32-bit float WAV/BWF recording at up to 96kHz, the DR-07XP provides extensive dynamic-range flexibility while retaining the straightforward portable operation of TASCAM’s DR-series recorders. A 3.5mm external microphone/line input, USB-C connectivity, 2-in/2-out USB audio interface functionality, support for microSDXC cards up to 512GB, and operation from two AA batteries make the DR-07XP a versatile choice for musicians, videographers, creators, students, and field-recording applications.
